Dr. Virendar Sarwal, MCH is a world renowned Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgeon in Chandigarh in North India. Dr Sarwal has a rich experience of very state of art heart institutes in India as well as abroad. He started his career with Escort Heart Institute ,New Delhi, Batra Hospital, New Delhi and Apollo Hospital ,New Delhi. He joined the faculty of PGIMER , Chandigarh, India as Assistant Professor and was instrumental in starting the Coronary Bypass programmed and designing the upcoming Advanced Cardiac Centre . He was Director (Medical) of City Hospital& Heart Institute, Chandigarh. He was the Chief Surgeon at Malhotra Heart Institute, New Delhi which was in international news when he operated upon a PAKISTANI CHILD “ALI” a high risk case at the age of 9 months. For five years then on he was at Fortis Heart Institute, Mohali heading his own unit as Senior Consultant and was instrumental in achieving highest success rate (100% in 300 consecutive cases for which he was awarded a Travel Award by World Society of Cardiac-Thoracic Surgeons at Ottawa in Canada).
